You don't need a Multisystem Television or VCR to Watch AFN
It's not necessary to purchase a multisystem television or VCR to view AFN Programming. Whether you live in the barracks, government housing or on the economy, a standard NTSC television is sufficient to view all AFN programs.
There are many different formats of television throughout the world. In America, we use the National Television Standards Committee or NTSC format, France and Russia use SECAM and Italy uses a system called PAL.
AFN throughout Europe broadcasts programming on an NTSC frequency that can be received with either a NTSC or Multisystem format television. The advantage of a Multisystem television is the ability to view programming from your host nation.
